The armband
The single biggest swing in your week. Every realistic candidate side by side with a projected haul, a ceiling and the odds of a blank — and ownership beside it, so you know what a differential actually costs you if it lands for everyone else.
The eleven
Who plays. Scaled by how likely each player is to start and for how long, because a good player who does not start scores exactly nothing. Drag to change it and the projection moves with you.
The bench order
Which substitute comes on first. It is four decisions most managers never make, and over a season the difference between them is real points.
The working
Every projection opens into where it came from — expected minutes, goal and assist rates regressed toward a sensible prior, the clean‑sheet distribution, the bonus estimate. No number on this screen is a black box.

Everything else averages out. The captain does not — it is the one pick worth double, and the one where being a week late to the obvious answer costs you most. The grid puts every candidate on the same scale so the call takes a minute rather than an evening.

Three habits it is built to break
Benching on last week
One good gameweek is not a starter and one blank is not a bench. Every rate is pulled toward a sensible prior until the sample earns its way out.
Captaining the biggest name
A fixture is half the projection. The most expensive player in your squad is not automatically the one worth double this week.
Leaving the bench in squad order
The order FPL gives you is the order you picked them in. It has nothing to do with who is most likely to play.
